Approach & Credentials
“Love doesn’t just sit there, like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all the time, made new.
—Ursula K. Le Guin”
Whether working with couples or individuals, my goal is for our work together to be attachment-focused and experiential.
Couples: Regardless of what stage in the relationship (from crisis to newly wed to premarital), I use Emotionally Focused Therapy to help couples create healing safety. By focusing on the emotions underlying interactions, that often leave couples feeling stuck, EFT promotes more honest and vulnerable interactions, improves communication and strengthens the relational bond and each partner's sense of safety in the relationship. For more information on EFT, visit www.iceeft.com.
Individuals: My work with individuals is attachment-focused. Like with couples, my goal is to help individuals get to the heart of what is hurting and keeping them stuck. I am also trained in EMDR, an integrative psychotherapy approach that is widely researched and an effective modality for the treatment of trauma, including physical, sexual, verbal and emotional abuse, as well as relational trauma. For more information on EMDR, visit www.emdria.com.
I am currently offering couple and individual counseling on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays weekly. My rate is $120 per clinical hour. I currently do not accept insurance. On Wednesdays, my office is located at 210 25th Avenue North, #1220, Nashville, TN 37203. On Thursdays and Fridays, I practice at 504 Autumn Springs Ct, #28, Franklin, TN 37067.
